Annie Parker

Annie has over four years of experience in public accounting, specializing in financial analysis, bookkeeping, and tax preparation. After completing her undergraduate degree at Mississippi State University, Annie pursued and attained a master’s degree from Christian Brothers University. This educational foundation, combined with practical experience, has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices. Known for her analytical skills and attention to detail, she has successfully managed various accounting projects, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and integrity.
Elizabeth Mora
Tax & Accounting Solutions
Born and raised in Memphis, Elizabeth joined our team in early 2025 and brings over a year of experience in the accounting industry. She is currently pursuing a dual degree in Accounting and Spanish at the University of Memphis. A valuable member of our Tax Team, she has recently expanded her role by joining our Accounting Services Team. As a bilingual professional fluent in both English and Spanish, she is passionate about providing clear and accessible support to a diverse range of clients.
Jenette Hebert, EA
Raised in New Zealand, Jenette graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, specializing in Accounting. She is an Enrolled Agent and has been associated with this firm since moving to Memphis with her family in 1997. As a member of the firm and manager of the tax department, Jenette brings over 40 years of expertise in income taxation for business owners and high-net-worth individuals. Jenette’s experience encompasses corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, estates, and trusts, including foreign taxation. She specializes in tax, estate and gift planning, entity formation, exit strategies, and resolving IRS and state tax audits and notices.
Lauren Smith
Accounting & Business Solutions
Lauren has six years of experience in public accounting and holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Mississippi. As a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, she possesses extensive knowledge of various accounting software, particularly QuickBooks Online. Lauren’s expertise is focused on improving accounting processes using modern technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy. She also has a strong background in business compliance, including sales, payroll, and state taxation. By integrating innovative solutions with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, Lauren enables businesses to streamline operations and maintain compliance effectively.

“I believe that Accounting is not all numbers. Financial Statements and tax returns are important, of course, but Accounting is a service business. I understand that indifference toward clients is not an option. Small businesses and individuals are the lifeblood of the firm’s business, and I make it a priority to maintain communication with clients on a regular basis, not just when it’s time to collect a fee.”
David began his accounting career in 1992. He has worked with some of the largest and best companies in the nation, including AutoZone, Pfizer, SunTrust and the public accounting firm Thompson Dunavant (CBIZ). In 2007, David founded David C. Nanney, CPA, PLLC, and in March of 2022, David purchased Brower & Hebert expanding the breadth of knowledge of the firm with three additional employees.
David specializes in accounting, federal taxation for individuals and small businesses, and business advising. He also has 2 years of experience with retirement plan record-keeping experience. Having served as a business process lead for 2 of the largest mergers in history while at Pfizer, David has extensive experience in Mergers and Acquisitions. His talents include documenting processes and procedures, and he has experience in various accounting systems, including QuickBooks, Computron, SAP, Oracle, Peoplesoft and various AS400 systems.
As a trusted advisor, David has experience presenting complex accounting issues to all levels of employees from staff to VPs. His communication skills as a presenter and speaker give him the unique ability to explain issues with an approach wherein everyone can understand. This is especially important during times of change management due to system implementation, mergers and acquisitions, or problem resolution. A small business can utilize his knowledge of industry best practices to their advantage, while still receiving the personal attention that clients deserve.
In addition to having 32 years of professional experience, David has served as an adjunct professor at Belhaven College for 8 years, teaching Accounting and Finance. He also formerly taught at the University of Phoenix.
